FAQ
Got questions?
We’ve got answers.
Real questions from real farmers — everything you need to know before, during, and after installing ATAR.
01
Ordering & Delivery
What is the delivery timeline?
Most components are kept in stock. We manufacture custom module brackets specific to your sprayer model, so the full process from order to installation takes approximately 30 days.
What are the payment terms?
30% deposit at order, remainder after installation is complete. We can also discuss payment timing aligned with your herbicide purchasing schedule.
Can the system be purchased through subsidies or agricultural funds?
This is a new technology category, and dedicated subsidy programs are still being developed. We can advise on available options in your region.
Why should I order now if I don’t need it until next season?
Early-adopter pricing is available for a limited time, and production slots are limited. Ordering early guarantees your system is ready before the season starts.
02
Warranty & Support
What warranty do you offer?
2-year warranty, fixed from the date of delivery. The expected lifespan of the system is 10–15 years.
Is the warranty time-based or based on operating hours?
Time-based — 2 years from the delivery date, regardless of usage.
What happens if a module fails in the field?
If a single module stops working, you can enable the nozzles on that section manually or switch the entire sprayer to standard mode. Our team will have the system operational again within the same or next business day.
Is physical damage covered under warranty?
No. Damage from collisions or misuse is not covered. The warranty covers manufacturing defects and system malfunctions under normal operating conditions.
Can I return the system if I’m not satisfied?
Only if the system is non-functional and we are unable to resolve the issue through repair or replacement.
03
Compatibility & Installation
I already have a Trimble computer for overlap control. Do I need to remove it?
No. ATAR is an add-on system that does not interfere with any existing sprayer functionality. Your current setup stays exactly as it is.
I have Hardi nozzles and holders. Is the system compatible?
ARAG is our default as the best solution for pneumatic valve integration, but we can adapt to your existing nozzle holders if they are functional.
I have air assist on my sprayer. Does that affect the system?
No. Air-assisted spraying does not interfere with the ATAR system.
Does my sprayer warranty remain valid after ATAR installation?
Yes. ATAR is a non-invasive add-on that does not modify the sprayer’s original components or functionality.
Who performs the installation?
Our team handles everything — bracket fabrication, module mounting, wiring, and system calibration.
How heavy is the system? Will it affect my sprayer?
The weight is negligible and has no measurable impact on sprayer performance or balance.
Can I transfer the system to a new sprayer later?
Yes. Transfer cost depends on whether new brackets are needed or additional modules are required. Integration-only transfer starts at €2,000.
04
Operation & Performance
What is the maximum driving speed?
We recommend 10–12 km/h for optimal herbicide savings. The system has been tested up to 15 km/h, but savings decrease at higher speeds.
Can I switch between smart and standard spraying mid-field?
Yes, instantly. One tap switches between Smart mode (AI spot spraying) and Standard mode (all nozzles open). No stopping, no reconfiguration.
How much herbicide can I save?
Depending on weed density, savings range from 70% to 90%. Actual results depend on your fields, crop type, and weed pressure.
What is the detection accuracy?
95%+, which is on par with conventional full-boom spraying in terms of effective weed treatment.
Which crops and weeds does the system support?
The system works across a wide range of row crops. We’ll discuss your specific situation to confirm where selective spraying delivers the most value.
What is the minimum weed size the system can detect?
The system reliably detects weeds from approximately 20 cm. While smaller weeds may be detectable, the practical benefit of spot-spraying at very early growth stages is minimal.
Does the system work at night?
No. The camera-based detection requires natural light to accurately identify weeds.
What if the weed is hidden by the crop canopy?
That accounts for the remaining ~5% that falls within normal detection limits — comparable to any spraying method.
Won’t partial coverage cause herbicide resistance?
No. The system activates multiple overlapping nozzles per detection to ensure every weed receives a full dose. All field testing confirms weeds are always treated at maximum application rate.
How do I know how much herbicide/water to mix?
Mix at your standard concentration. For the first fills, plan for approximately 40% of your normal water volume. You’ll optimize further as you learn your fields.
Can I use smart spraying while also applying foliar fertilizer?
Smart mode is designed for selective herbicide application. If you combine fertilizer and herbicide, we can calculate whether separating operations is more cost-effective.
05
Maintenance & Care
What maintenance does the system require?
Minimal. Wipe camera lenses before each working day (about 3 minutes) and schedule an annual system check. The system monitors its own health and alerts you and our team if something needs attention.
What if a camera gets dirty during operation?
The system detects lens obstruction and alerts the operator. In practice, a quick wipe in the morning is usually sufficient for the full day.
Is calibration needed before every use?
One initial calibration at installation. After that, recalibration is only needed if something has been physically moved — and the system detects and notifies you automatically.
Does the system track nozzle usage?
Yes — operating time and activation count for each nozzle, as long as nozzles are not swapped between holders.
Are there any additional ongoing costs?
No hidden costs. The Intelligence subscription covers AI model updates, OTA firmware, and portal access.
06
Data & Reporting
How do I access spray maps?
Spray maps are available digitally through the ATAR customer portal. View field coverage, herbicide savings, and detection data for every session.
Do I need to fly a drone before spraying?
No. ATAR performs real-time detection as you drive. No pre-mapping, no drone flights, no extra steps.
Do I need to import my field maps?
No. The system works independently without requiring pre-existing field maps.
Is there a user manual?
Yes — both a video tutorial and a printed quick-start guide are included with every system.
07
General
How many sprayers have you equipped so far?
All testing has been conducted on our own sprayers over the past 3 years — in real field conditions across Vojvodina, on hundreds of hectares, as well as thousands of hectares in simulation.
What language is the interface in?
The interface is primarily visual and icon-based. Available in English and Serbian — most controls are intuitive regardless of language.
How does ATAR compare to competitors?
There is currently no direct competitor offering this level of integration at this price point. Our system is universal (40+ sprayer brands), includes dedicated local support, and is built for the conditions in this region.
Where can I see the system in action?
We have a working prototype available for demonstration. Contact us to schedule a visit at our facility in Novi Sad or arrange a field demo.
The product is new and not from a known brand. How can I trust it?
While the product is new to market, it has been in active development and field testing for over 3 years. We stand behind every system with a 2-year warranty and dedicated local support.
